When you develop a business plan, financial projections and cash flow analysis are among the most critical elements. Businesses have to demonstrate the profit potential of the enterprise in order to convince a lender or investors to provide needed funding.

In this workshop you will learn the knowledge, behavior and confidence to use financial models, tips and tools to communicate your profit goals to your key staff.

Improve Your Estimating & Bidding Skills. The Estimating Lab is Open!

Instructor:  Victor C. Tyler, P.E., M.ASCE, NSPE, President, Tyler Construction Engineers, P.C. Mr. Tyler is the author of an estimating book, a presenter of numerous seminars, and has more than 30 years of engineering and construction experience.

This class is a first in a series of estimating topics to be offered in 2017. Be sure to attend all classes to receive the full benefit of estimating and bidding  construction and service work.

This is a fundamental course that will provide you with a standard estimating concepts and techniques for estimating, bidding, and preparing winning proposals from a subcontractor’s view point, however, estimators for large GC and Prime contractors can benefit from this session as well. Participants will learn how to estimate job costs and prepare bids that are accurate, effective and profitable. In fact the method presented is great for change order cost & pricing justification.

Course material will allow you to actually work on real world jobs from private, state and public works customers. You will learn techniques that will improve your confidence to price jobs profitably.  The method presented will make you excited again about estimating and bidding construction and service work.

The instructor will be available to assist you in reviewing your own estimating strategy plan. So be sure to bring your bid-estimate questions and concerns. The types of scope of work covered will be guided by participants suggested interests. However, a more detailed estimating course will be scheduled upon requests.

Discussion will include how to estimating labor and equipment production, material, other job costs, and developing a complete detail estimate. We will review residential, commercial, DOT, airports and public infrastructure scope of works.  Follow up workshops will cover additional items of work in more detail as requested by class participants. The instructor will also discuss how to develop and use custom spreadsheet templates to detail your estimates and bids.
