The material is organized toward the small subcontractor's point-of view. Our Custom Excel Bid-Estimate Templates will be used in classroom activities.
In this fast paced and in depth 2-day course, attendees will gain greater insights and knowledge of how to estimate, bid and win DOT contracts. Work scopes covered may include but are not limited to Trucking, Material Hauling, Silt Fence Installation, Concrete Flatwork, Placing Base Stone, Clearing and Grubbing, Road & Drainage Excavation, Asphalt Paving, Pipe Culvert, depending on class makeup.
After completing this mini-boot camp, participants will understand how to organize the estimating document, understand quantity take-off, materials pricing methods, labor and equipment productivity and billing rates, indirect, overhead and profit.
The methods presented will change participants’ way of thinking from that of a craftsperson into thinking like a successful businessperson in the construction industry.
Attendance for the entire session and active participation in this intensive course is essential to success in learning to estimate and bid on DOT and Infrastructure projects. You are encouraged to bring your laptops, an example of several detailed bid estimates and business' current Year –end Profit and Loss Statement.
